The Link12i has an advanced 1-Wire front end that presents controlled impedance to the bus, performs intelligent bus pre-charge and has improved waveform timing based on extensive research with a variety of iButton and 1-Wire chip devices and network topologies.
Slew controlled drivers reduce EMI and ringing, while analog and digital filtering reduce noise sensitivity. A crystal controlled time base eliminates the need for periodic recalibration steps in the driving software and assures consistent 1-Wire waveform timing.
Link12i will issue its own unique 16 digit, 1-Wire address, to provide identification of the specific network; a great asset when using multiple networks.
Link12i has additional features not found in the DS9097U-09. When used with any terminal program, the Link12i can serve as a network sniffer and diagnostic tool.

Application Note
There are two connectors on the Link12i; a DB9 connector attaches to the serial port of the host computer and a female RJ12 connector provides output to the 1-Wire bus.
