Interfacing with your iButton
In addition to your Thermochron or Hygrochron, you will need what we call a 'Viewer Package'. A Viewer Package is a combination of iButton Software and hardware used to view, configure, and collect data from your data logger.
At iButtonLink, we offer a couple of different software options depending on your application. You will find a link to each of our current software options below.
ExactLog Software
ExactLog™ Software is our new PC-based application that allows you to quickly and easily configure and download data from Thermochron and Hygrochron iButtons and ExactLog ™ Data Loggers. Our simple, plug-and-play setup process finds devices automatically and makes mission configuration simpler than ever.
*For use with iButtons, you'll need a LinkUSBi Touch and Hold or another LinkUSB Family Adapter.
*For use with the ExactLog™, you'll just need a USB Type C Cable.
Compatible with: Windows 11, Windows 10, and Windows 8.

Maxim 1-Wire Viewer Option
The Maxim 1-Wire Viewer is the original software interface for programming and downloading iButton Data Logger data. This option is free and can be paired with any of the viewer hardware combinations you choose.
*This option requires additional pieces. Here’s what you will need.
Compatible with: Windows 10, Windows 8 and Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP SP2 or Higher, Windows 2008 Server, and Earlier 32-bit Microsoft OS.
