iButtonLink Privacy Policy

Our Policy

It is the policy of iButtonLink that information about a Customer (“Customer” includes people and companies that purchase something, potential Customers, and web site viewers) is confidential between the Customer and iButtonLink.  We will only share confidential information if the Customer gives us permission to share it or we are required by law.

If the information came from a source other than the Customer, then we won’t share the source of the information with the Customer or anyone else without permission from the source.

If we are required by law to share Customer information or a source of information, we’ll notify the Customer we did so, unless it’s prohibited by law to do so.

If you have additional confidentiality requirements contact us about a separate non-disclosure agreement.  If we have a non-disclosure agreement with you, then that agreement supersedes this privacy policy, other than the sections about device and order information.

How we obtain your permission to share information

Device information

When Customer connect to our web site for the first time you receive a “cookie banner” that requests you to click to acknowledge it’s OK to collect Customer information including information about the device used to connect to the web site and about the Customer.  This includes cookies, of which our provider(s) place at least seven on your device.  iButtonLink doesn’t directly place or use any cookies.

Our email provider and our voice provider don’t provide similar click to accept technologies, nor have we found reasonable ones available.  If you send us an email or call us, we take that as acceptance to have our providers log device information, mainly because we don’t have a way to stop them.

Order information

We take the placement of an order as permission to share the reasonable minimum amount of information required to process your payment, process your order, and get your order delivered to you.

Everything else

If information isn’t needed to process your order, isn’t device information that our providers collect, and we aren’t required by law to share it then we will directly ask you for permission before we share it.  We’ll ask for your permission via an email, a letter, or a call.

Deleting, correcting, updating, and reviewing information or other requests.

If any Customer, including an EU member, wishes to have their personal information deleted, review the information we have on file, or make any other requests, they may do so by either:  a) emailing info@ibuttonlink.com or b) using our web site Contact Us form:  https://www.ibuttonlink.com/pages/contact-us.  We’ll also take requests on paper by US Postal Service or other common carrier to the address on the About Us page.
