Description

This sensor measures temperature using a DS-2438Z with an operating range of -40°C to +85°C. It is not calibrated, but empirical data proves it to be accurate within a few degrees of actual temperature. The sensing device is partially enclosed and mounted to the PCB, so the time to respond to temperature change will be relatively slow. The sensor should not be placed in direct sunlight, as the radiant heat will become trapped inside the enclosure and will cause higher readings.

The MS-TC will measure AC currents in the range of 0 - 20 amps in addition to measuring temperature. Although it is not calibrated, empirical data shows that the MS-TC has a typical reading accuracy of ±3%. The response curve, established at 23°C, is linear from .2VDC (1 amp) to 3.78 VDC (20 amps). The zero current reading is .09 VDC. When used with a Link45 or a Link12, the output will be read in voltage, as shown above.

The output will be a 3 digit reading from 1.00 - 20.0 when used with a LinkTH. No matter what Link model is used, readings below 1 amp and above 20 amps will not be specified.

The sensing device used is a clamp-on current transformed with dimensions of 1.04 inches H x 1.04 inches W x 1.58 inches H. The window (aperture) is .40 inches in diameter. The box holding the electronics is shipped with 3 feet of 18-gauge wire extending from it. The user can then add or trim wire as needed and make the final connection to the current transformer.
